The fun continues on the second day of the Hashnode BootCamp! Stick around as we dive into even more insights and game-changing strategies! ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŽ‰

Session 1

The session was led by Nader Debit, Director of Developer Relations at Aave and Lens Protocol. He is also the Founder of DeveloperDAO. Here are the most impactful tips and suggestions he shared:

  • Focus on becoming a specialist rather than a generalist. Hone your skills in a specific technology and establish yourself as an expert in that field. Strive to be the best you can be in that area. This will open up opportunities for you within that technology, as you will have built a reputation as a knowledgeable authority.

  • Maintain a consistent profile picture across all your social media platforms.

  • Include backlinks and links to your portfolio.

  • Learn in public. Share what you are learning and creating with others in your community and on social media.

  • Be helpful. Offer assistance before expecting anything in return. This practice will aid you in establishing high-quality relationships.

  • Maintain authenticity on social media.

  • Be active and engaging on social media, but avoid being gimmicky or resorting to clickbait tactics.

  • Utilize rich media, such as code, images, and videos, when sharing content online. These elements typically generate more engagement than text alone.

  • If you feel uncomfortable or cringe sharing content online, you are doing it right.

  • Make your document scannable and easily readable. Use bullet points where possible. Separate long tweets into sentences and threads.

  • Utilize the networks and audiences of others. This is the most straightforward way to scale, instead of building your audience. Engage in their online discussions. Offer assistance in their endeavors.

  • Learn something new, then create a project or app using your newfound knowledge. Open source the project, and craft a blog post and a video about it, explaining the process and its significance.

  • Create learning resources for yourself, as they serve as content you can produce.

  • Combine ideas. When you acquire a new skill or technology, don't limit yourself to building with it alone. Discover ways to incorporate additional technologies into your project.

  • One approach to monetizing your social media presence and content, apart from advertisements or conventional sponsorships, involves offering consulting services, such as Developer Relations (DevRel) consulting. Provide DevRel consulting services to tech companies.

Session 2

The session was led by Akos Komuves, a software engineer and ex-CTO. Here are the most impactful tips and suggestions he shared:

  • The more you write, the more ideas you generate.

  • Storytelling is a crucial skill for writers to possess.

  • The quality of your audience depends on the quality of your content.

  • Refrain from using ChatGPT Add-ons when engaging with people on Twitter. Maintain a positive and genuine tone.

  • On social media, impressions lead to profile clicks, which determine whether a person will follow and engage with you or not. This is generally how the algorithm functions.

  • Leverage tools such as Typefully and Hypefury to manage your Twitter account.

  • If someone duplicates your content, simply disregard it.

  • Embrace the win-win nature of social media. There are no winners or losers. We all grow and learn together.

  • Choose the most suitable publishing platform for your needs, whether it's Hashnode, Medium, Substack, or LinkedIn.
